Instant Pot Easy Mutton Curry or Goat Curry

Ingredients
- Mutton chops Or Goat chops- 1 lb or ½ Kg
- Oil- 1 tbsp
- Dried Bay leaves- 2
- Garlic, chopped- 1 tbsp
- Ginger, chopped- 1 tbsp
- Green chilies, halved- 3
- Curry leaves- 1 sprig
- Onion, sliced- 2
- Tomatoes, chopped- 2
- Chili powder- 1½ tsp
- Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
- Coriander powder- 1 tbsp
- Fennel powder- 1 tsp
- Garam Masala- 1 tsp
- Salt- 1½ tsp
- Yogurt- 4 tbsp
- Curry leaves- 1 sprig (or chopped cilantro- 2tbsp)
Instructions
- Turn on the Saute mode on the Instant Pot- Medium temperature.
- Let the hot sign display on the screen.
- Add oil followed by bay leaves, chopped ginger, garlic, green chilies and curry leaves. Saute everything and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add sliced onions, season with 1 tsp salt, saute for 2 minutes.
- Add tomatoes, cook for 2 minutes.
- Add mutton or goat chops, combine well.
- Add chili powder, turmeric powder, fennel powder, coriander powder, Garam masala and ½ tsp salt; combine well.
- Add yogurt, combine well.
- Close the pot with the lid.
- Cancel saute mode.
- Select pressure cook mode, set time to 25 minutes at high pressure. Click start if using Instant Pot Ultra model. (Turn pressure release valve to Sealing in 7 in 1 DUO model).
- After 25 minutes of cooking, do a quick pressure release.
- Open the lid.
- There will be enough liquid that oozed of the mutton chops in the pot. If you want to thicken the gravy: Turn on Saute mode at medium temperature and cook for 2 minutes.
- Garnish with curry leaves or chopped cilantro.
- Remove the stainless steel pot from the main pot.
- Serve the mutton chops curry into a bowl and enjoy along with paratha, parotta, naan, chapati or rice.
