Making creamy mashed potatoes couldn’t get any easier in the Instant Pot. Throw in the potatoes (I prefer peeled potatoes) and pressure cook for 15 minutes. Do a quick pressure release, drain the liquid and add butter, milk/cream, and cheese and mash, mash, mash. It’s that easy to make and tastes delicious. Makes a perfect side dish along with seafood, chicken, steak or veggies.

Ingredients
- Russet potatoes- 5, peeled & quartered
- Water- 1 cup
- Salt- ½ tsp
- Ground black pepper- ⅛ tsp
- Butter, unsalted- 2 tbsp
- Milk or Cream- ¼ cup
- Grated cheddar cheese- 1 cup
- Ground black pepper- ¼ tsp
- Green onions, chopped- ¼ cup
Instructions
- Add potatoes to the stainless steel pot-along with water, salt, and ground black pepper.
- Close with the lid.
- Select pressure cook, set time to 15 minutes at high pressure.
- After 15 minutes of pressure cooking, do a quick pressure release.
- Open the lid.
- Drain the water from the cooked potatoes.
- Mash the potatoes using a spoon.
- Add butter, milk, and cheese; mash well without any lumps.
- Add ground black pepper and green onions; combine well.
- Serve along with seafood, chicken, steak or mixed veggies.
