Easy, healthy and delicious dip for tortilla chips…
My love for the city that I am living in is growing drastically every time I explore a new place. Yesterday, we explored a bog very close to my house, in fact it’s only 5 minutes drive away. Last year after moving to our new house, I had seen the sign for the bog while driving past it, but never visited it. It was yesterday, finally we made up our mind to just go there and to see what was the big deal about that bog.
If you are wondering what is a bog, here is the description for the bog that was written at the entrance:
“A bog is a nutrient poor, acidic wetland whose water supply comes mainly from the rainwater. Everything in a bog is waterlogged and floating on a deep bed of peat.”
I stood speechless when I entered that bog, it was so stunning and everything was just floating on water. There was a wooden plank bridge over the water and we walked through the entire bog on it. The plank or the bridge led us to a splendid pond in which geese and fishes were living in harmony. I was mesmerized, felt rejuvenated and refreshed. The chirping of the lovely birds did add an extra effect to our beautiful stroll. Since it’s Spring all the trees were leafless and it was a totally different perspective. In Summer, it’s going to be serene and lushful. Being a nature lover, I am extremely delighted to have this bog very close to my house. Now, I have a hidden treasure that I can visit quite often. Yes, I did click a lot of pictures using my Iphone, sharing a few. These pictures don’t do justice to the reality there, it was beyond amazing!
A few days ago, I made this avocado dip to serve with fried tortilla chips. I have tried avocado dips a few times at restaurants, well I didn’t quite fall for that. Whenever, I get avocados I instantly make avocado milkshake and lately have been using it while making sushi. This time I went ahead and tried making a dip with it. It wasn’t that bad after all. I also fried store bought tortillas and served along with this dip. The fried tortillas chips turned out crispy and delicious, the avocado dip was flavorful and very healthy.
