Japan chicken that has nothing to do with Japan…
This is a popular dish served in a restaurant called Amman Mess in Erode, Tamil Nadu. Whoever tried this dish loved it & this recipe went viral. I watched a few reels on Insta & of course the name Japan chicken got me curious. Not sure how this dish got the name Japan chicken, maybe the person who came up with this recipe loves Japan & hence the name.
It’s a simple recipe that’s made with very few simple ingredients. I tried this in my kitchen, my hubs & I enjoyed it. I truly loved the addition of garlic & green chilies, which imparted a nice garlicky flavor & heat to this dish. The sauce is quite similar to making the white sauce that’s popular in French cuisine without the addition of flour & cheese. In this dish, ground cashew nuts are added which made this dish incredibly rich & creamy. I wouldn’t add cheese to this, even without cheese tasted delish.
Can be enjoyed as an appetizer or with basmati rice, pasta, noodles, naan, chapati, etc.
