Chicken legs/drumsticks marinated in a flavorful & aromatic homemade marinade and air fried to perfection. This is a healthy alternative to fried chicken without compromising the taste. The homemade marinade can be made ahead of time & stored in the refrigerator for a few days.

Ingredients
- Chicken legs/drumsticks- 10
For making the homemade marinade
- Chili powder- 1 tsp (or more based on your spice level)
- Kashmiri chili powder- 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
- Cumin powder- 1 tsp
- Coriander powder- 1 tbsp
- Garam masala- 1 tsp
- Salt- 1½ tsp
- Garlic, grated- ½ tbsp
- Ginger, grated- ½ tbsp
- Cilantro, chopped- 1 tbsp
- Mint leaves, chopped- 1 tbsp
- Yogurt, plain- 3 tbsp
- Lemon juice- 1 tbsp
Instructions
- Remove the skin from the chicken legs & clean well under running water.
- Add couple of lines over the chicken legs. Keep aside.
- In a bowl, combine all the ingredients mentioned 'for making the homemade marinade'.
- This marinade can be made ahead of time & stored in the refrigerator.
- Spread all over the chicken legs & let marinate at least for an hour. Can be marinated overnight in the refrigerator.
- Place the marinated chicken legs in the air fryer basket.
- Spread the marinade all over the chicken legs.
- Let marinate for an hour or longer.
- Remove the paddle attachment from the air fryer.
- Place the marinated chicken legs in the air fryer basket.
- Spray with non-stick cooking spray or coconut oil.
- Set the time to 25 minutes.
- The temperture should be 400 F or 200 C.
- After 25 minutes of air frying, flip them over.
- Air fry for another 5 more minutes.
- If you want the chicken legs to be more crispy you can cook for 5 more minutes (total 35 minutes).
- Enjoy with a salad or cauliflower rice.
