These are the best-tasting chicken wings, tastes better than restaurant style. We can enjoy these wings without much guilt, these are air-fried & absolutely not fried. This is my favorite recipe & turns out perfect every single time.

I’ve air-fried the wings in my Instant Pot air fryer. I swear this is the only recipe you’ll need & will turn into your favorite recipe.

  • Chicken wings- 16, split wings
For making flour mix
  • All-purpose flour- ½ cup
  • Paprika- 1 tsp
  • Chili powder- ½ tsp (or add ¼ tsp cayenne pepper)
  • Salt- 1½ tsp
For making sauce
  • Butter, unsalted- 2 tbsp
  • Hot sauce- ½ cup
  • Garlic powder- ½ tsp
  • Ground black pepper- a few pinches
  1. I've taken 16 split chicken wings.
  2. Very important step: Pat dry the wings well using paper towel.
  3. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients for making the flour mix.
  4. Coat each wing in the flour spice mix, place them in the bowl.
  5. There will be some flour mix left, keep that aside.
  6. Very important step: Let the chicken wings rest for an hour. Don't skip this step.
  7. I've used Instant Pot duo crisp & air fryer, place the stainless steel pot in the main pot.
  8. Place the air fryer basket in the stainless steel pot.
  9. Place the broil tray into the air fryer basket.
  10. Line the broil tray with parchment paper. Clean up will be easy.
  11. After an hour long resting, coat the chicken wings again with the flour mix.
  12. Place the wings on the parchment paper. Don't stack them up.
  13. If you have more wings, air fry in batches.
  14. Spray with non-stick cooking spray on the wings.
  15. Close the pot with the air fryer lid.
  16. Select air fry setting, temperature 375 F, time 25 minutes.
  17. In the meantime, let's make the sauce.
  18. Place a saucepan over medium heat, add butter let melt.
  19. Add the hot sauce. Based on your heat level add mild, medium or hot sauce.
  20. Add garlic powder & ground black pepper, combine well.
  21. Cook the sauce till it starts to boil.
  22. Remove the pan from the heat & keep it covered.
  23. After 25 minutes of air frying, open the lid.
  24. Flip the wings over.
  25. Close the pot with the air fryer lid.
  26. Select air fry setting, temperature 400 F, time 15 minutes.
  27. After 15 minutes of air frying, open the lid.
  28. Chicken wings will be crispy & juicy.
  29. Transfer the wings to a large bowl.
  30. Pour the hot sauce over the wings, toss them in the sauce. Let the sauce coat evenly.
  31. Enjoy the wings right away that's when it will be crispy, along with celery sticks.
