How to install induction wheel covers on your Model Y?
Before installing the induction wheel covers, you will need to apply the foam tape (included in the package) on the back of each cover. The foam tape should be placed along the edge of the cover, where it will contact the rim of the wheel. Installing induction wheel covers on your Model Y is very easy and straightforward. You don’t need any tools or special skills, just some patience and care.
Here are the steps that I followed:
- Park your car on a flat and clean surface.
- Use the foam tape to wrap the backside edge of each cover.
- Remove the original wheel covers by pulling them gently from the edges. You might need to use some force, but be careful not to damage them or scratch the wheels.
- Clean the wheels with some soapy water and a soft cloth to remove any dirt or dust.
- Identify which induction wheel cover corresponds to each wheel by looking at the direction of the spokes. The spokes should point forward when the car is moving forward. There should also be a sticker on each cover indicating the position (Left, Right).
- Align the induction wheel cover with the wheel and press it firmly until it snaps into place. You should hear a click sound when it is properly secured.
- Repeat steps 2 to 5 for the remaining wheels.
- Check that all the induction wheel covers are correctly installed and aligned. If not, you can remove them by inserting a flat tool (such as a credit card or a spatula) between the cover and the wheel and prying it gently.
- Store your original wheel covers in the storage bag provided and keep them in a safe place.
