I still love chicken legs\u00a0better than the other parts of the chicken.\u00a0My preferred way of\u00a0devouring\u00a0chicken legs has always been when it is fried, especially Kerala style chicken leg fry marinated with aromatic spices and herbs.<\/p>\n<p>As part of my healthy diet, I have cut down on fried legs and have been into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thasneen.com\/cooking\/baked-barbecued-chicken-drummettes\/\" target=\"_blank\">baking<\/a> it often. Couple of days ago, I wanted to try something different with chicken legs and making curry was the only thing I could think of. Chicken legs curry has always been a top favorite in my family, one of the dishes most commonly made.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chicken Legs Curry<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6675 size-full\" title=\"Chicken legs curry\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thasneen.com\/cooking\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/chicken-legs-curry.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chicken legs or bone-in chicken- 8 legs or 2 pound chicken<\/li>\n<li>Potatoes, cubed- 4 large<\/li>\n<li>Star anise- 3<\/li>\n<li>Cinnamon stick, 1inch slice- 2<\/li>\n<li>Cloves- 3<\/li>\n<li>Whole dry red chili- 3<\/li>\n<li>Curry leaves- 1 sprig<\/li>\n<li>Coconut milk- 1 cup<\/li>\n<li>Water- 1\/2 cup<\/li>\n<li>Lemon grass, dried (optional)- 1\/2 stalk cut into slices<\/li>\n<li>Oil- 4 tbsp<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To make into a paste:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Small onions- 13<\/li>\n<li>Garlic- 4 cloves<\/li>\n<li>Chili powder- 2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Turmeric powder- 1\/4 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Coriander\u00a0powder- 1 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Fennel powder- 1 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Cumin powder- 3\/4 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Salt- to taste<\/li>\n<li>Water- 3 tbsp<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Instruction<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In a blender, grind the above mentioned &#8221; to make into a paste&#8221; ingredients into a smooth paste.<\/li>\n<li>Heat a large non-stick pan over medium heat, add oil.<\/li>\n<li>Add star anise, cinnamon stick, cloves and whole red chili, saute in the oil for a minute.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the ground paste and saute it for a couple of minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add the curry leaves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter chicken legs and potatoes into the pan.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the water and add the lemon grass into the pan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a and cook.<\/li>\n<li>When the chicken has cooked well, add the coconut milk and let it come to a boil.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a
