When it&#8217;s jackfruit season, Keralites make many sweet &amp; savory dishes with it. Even the jackfruit seeds are edible, I love the fried jackfruit seeds. Cooked seeds can be also turned into a delicious smoothie or milkshake.<\/p>\n<p>One of the vegetarian dishes made with raw jackfruit &amp; seeds is this puzhukku, and is served as a side dish with rice.<\/p>\n<p>This recipe is similar to making tapioca\/kappa or Yuca puzhukku. seeds are available at most Indian stores.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Into a wide saucepan, add raw jackfruit &amp; seeds along with water &amp; salt.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Cook covered for a few minutes till they turn soft.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">If it gets dry, add some more water &amp; cook.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Into a blender jar, add all the ingredients mentioned \u2018to grind\u2019, grind to a smooth paste.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add the ground coconut to the cooked jackfruit &amp; seeds.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Combine well, cook for a few minutes till the raw smell of the coconut goes away.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Taste &amp; add salt if required.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Make the tempering: Place a frying pan over medium heat, add oil, let the oil turn hot.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add mustard seeds let splutter.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add dried red chilies &amp; curry leaves; saute for a few seconds.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Immediately, pour the tempering over the cooked jackfruit puzhukku.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Cover with a lid &amp; let rest for a few minutes.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Serve as a side dish &amp;
