The other day, I made poori in a real fancy way. I had beef that day, so made beef masala and then stuffed the beef masala into the poori and fried it. Doesn&#8217;t it sound fancy? It came out pretty good and needless to mention, the stuffed pooris disappeared from the platter in no time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is how the stuffed poori before frying looks like:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-216\" title=\"img_1283\" src=\"http:\/\/thasneen.com\/cooking\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/img_1283-300x190.jpg\" alt=\"img_1283\" width=\"300\" height=\"190\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thasneen.com\/cooking\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/img_1283-300x190.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thasneen.com\/cooking\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/img_1283-1024x651.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"easyrecipeWrapper\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"easyrecipe\" data-rating=\"0\"> \t<link itemprop=\"image\" href=\"http:\/\/thasneen.com\/cooking\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/img_1288-copy2.jpg\" \/>\n<div class=\"item ERName\">Beef Stuffed Poori<\/div>\n<div class=\"ERClear\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"ERHead\">Prep time: <time itemprop=\"prepTime\" datetime=\"PT5M\">5 mins<\/time><\/div>\n<div class=\"ERHead\">Cook time: <time itemprop=\"cookTime\" datetime=\"PT35M\">35 mins<\/time><\/div>\n<div class=\"ERHead\">Total time: <time itemprop=\"totalTime\" datetime=\"PT40M\">40 mins<\/time><\/div>\n<div class=\"ERIngredients\">\n<div class=\"ERIngredientsHeader\">Ingredients<\/div>\n<ul class=\"ingredients\">\n<li class=\"ERSeparator\">[b]For cooking beef[\/b]<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Beef, stew cut- 1\/2 lb or 1\/4 Kg<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Chili powder- 1 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Turmeric powder- 1\/4 tsp<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Garam masala- 1 tsp<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Fennel powder- 1 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Coriander powder-1 tsp<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Salt- to taste<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Water-1\/4 cup<\/li>\n<li class=\"ERSeparator\">[b]For making the Masala[\/b]<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Onion, minced- 2<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Ginger, minced-1 tbsp<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Garlic, minced-1 tbsp<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Green chilies, minced-1 tbsp<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Cilantro, chopped-1 handful<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Oil- 1 tbsp<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Salt- as required<\/li>\n<li class=\"ERSeparator\">[b]For making poori[\/b]<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Wheat flour or Atta-1\/2 cup<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Maida-1\/2 cup<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Water- as required<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Salt- a pinch<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Oil- 2 tsp<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ERInstructions\">\n<div class=\"ERInstructionsHeader\">Instructions<\/div>\n<div class=\"instructions\">\n<div class=\"ERSeparator\">[b]Making beef Masala[\/b]<\/div>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Coat the beef with all the above ingredients &#8220;for cooking beef&#8221; and add water to it. Cook the beef in a pressure cooker until 3 to 4 whistles.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Let the pressure subside, open the cooker and cook the beef until all the water has evaporated.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Coarsely grind the beef in a food processor (do not make into a paste) or shred it and keep it aside.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Heat a pan over medium heat, add oil, add onion, season with salt and saute till translucent.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add minced ginger, garlic, green chilies, cilantro, saute until onions start to turn light brown.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add the cooked and shredded beef and stir fry for a few minutes.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">This is the stuffing for the poori.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"ERSeparator\">[b]Making poori dough[\/b]<\/div>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"instruction\">In a large bowl, add both the flours, salt and knead by pouring water little by little , make a soft dough. Add oil and keep it aside.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Make small balls out of the dough.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Roll each balls into round shape, by sprinkling wheat flour while rolling to avoid sticking.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Now using a round shape cutter, make small rounds out of the rolled dough.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Make as many rounds as possible from the whole dough.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Take one of the rounds, place 1 to 2 tbsp beef masala and cover it with the second round, seal the edges by pressing the 2 rounds together.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">You could press a fork over the edge of the poori.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Heat enough oil in a frying pan.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Fry the beef stuffed dough in the oil, flip it over and let both sides turn golden brown.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried stuffed poori on a paper towel, let cool down a bit.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Serve warm with salad or tomato ketchup.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ERNutrition\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"endeasyrecipe\" style=\"display: none;\">3.4.3177<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Poori is a famous Indian bread; served for breakfast with veg or non-veg curries.
