As it sits, the taste and the flavor of this rice is getting better.

Jambalaya is a popular dish in Louisiana, and it resembles a lot to Paella which is popular in Spanish cuisine. A very flavorful and aromatic dish that can be made by adding shrimp, chicken and vegetables to the rice that is cooked in tomato sauce and chicken stock. This is a complete meal and nothing needs to be accompanied with this. I still couldn’t get over with the taste of this dish, absolutely delicious!

Chicken Jambalaya Recipe

Recipe Type: Main

Cuisine: American

Author: Thasneen

Prep time: 10 mins

Cook time: 40 mins

Total time: 50 mins

Serves: 6 People

Ingredients

For marinating chicken

Chicken breasts, halved- 2 breasts

Ground cumin- 1 /2 tsp

Paprika- 1 tsp

Basil leaves, chopped- 5 leaves

Rosemary leaves- 1 sprig

Salt- to taste

While cooking Rice

Butter- 2 tbsp

Onion, chopped- 1

Green pepper, chopped-1

Celery, chopped- 1 stick

Carrot, chopped- 1

Garlic, chopped- 2 cloves

Tomato paste- 2 tbsp

Paprika- 1 /2 tsp

Cayenne or chili powder – 1 /2 tsp

Ground cumin-1/2 tsp

Tomato sauce, low-sodium- 1 cup

Chicken stock- 2 cups

Water- 1 1 /4 cup

Long grain rice- 2 cups

Cilantro or Parsley chopped- 1 /4 cup

Instructions

Cut the chicken breasts into halves and marinate with the above mentioned ingredients “for marinating chicken”.

Pan fry the marinated chicken in little oil till it’s slightly cooked.
