Pumpkins are made into almost all forms: pies, cookies, cakes, breads, lattes with pumpkin spice and many more. I&#8217;d made pumpkin pie a few years ago from scratch, if you are looking for a recipe check this out: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thasneen.com\/cooking\/pumpkin-pie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pumpkin pie recipe<\/a>\u00a0with step by step preparation method.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I made this vegetarian dish with pumpkin when I&#8217;d made <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thasneen.com\/cooking\/how-to-make-sadya-or-keralas-flavorful-veggie-palatte-onam-sadya-recipes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sadya<\/a>. It&#8217;s called pulissery and the gravy is made of coconut and yogurt. I had made pulissery with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thasneen.com\/cooking\/cucumber-pulissery-or-cucumber-in-coconut-and-yogurt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cucumber<\/a>, beetroot and<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thasneen.com\/cooking\/pineapple-pulissery-or-pineapple-in-coconut-and-yogurt-sauce\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> pineapple<\/a> before, so this time I tried with pumpkin. Don\u2019t over cook or mash it.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">In a blender, grind the above mentioned ingredients \u201cto grind\u201d.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add the ground coconut mixture to the cooked pumpkin, combine well and cook for a few minutes till the raw taste of coconut goes away.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add the yogurt to a bowl &amp; beat it well using a spoon or whisk.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Take the pan off the heat and add yogurt to it, combine well.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Taste and add more salt if needed.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Keep it covered.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"ERSeparator\">[b]For making seasoning[\/b]<\/div>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Heat a small frying pan, add coconut oil, let oil turn hot.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add mustard seeds, let splutter.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add dried red chilies, halved and curry leaves, saute for a few seconds.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Pour this seasoning over the pumpkin pulissery, close the pan with the lid.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Serve as a side dish along with rice.
