This’s the first thing that came to my mind after sipping this delicious sweet corn milkshake. As summer arrives, I get excited seeing all the beautiful corns, corn fields and by cooking with it. Grilled corn has been my most favorite, in fact I love everything that’s made with corn whether it’s sweet corn chicken soup or corn chowder or even corn fritters. I have tried all these with corn, but haven’t quite thought of making milkshake out of it.

I am fortunate enough to live close to farm lands, there are numerous corn fields near to my house. So, last weekend I visited one of the corn fields and many corns tagged along with me. I knew it it wouldn’t go wasted. As soon as I came home, I peeled the leaves from it and stored it in the refrigerator. I’ve been making a lot of corn dishes since then. There is literally nothing so fresh like a corn on the cob. Once you have tasted the fresh corn you wouldn’t enjoy canned corns anymore. The other day, I took the corns out of the refrigerator and started scraping the corn kernels from the cob. It was so fresh that as I scrapped it, the juice oozed out of it and the kernels looked so crisp. I couldn’t resist tasting the kernels and voila it tasted so delicious that I kept eating it. It was like eating a honey fruit, so sweet and crunchy. Then the idea of making milkshake with it triggered me. Since the corn itself tasted so sweet, I didn’t have to sweeten it up much. Just a few tablespoons of honey was enough, pureed with milk, that’s it. It was creamy, silky and yummy. A delicious milkshake was made in no time. I cannot literally think of any other milkshake right now, this has become one of my favorites.

Sweet Corn Milkshake

Makes: 2 glass

Ingredients

Sweet Corn kernels, scrapped from fresh corn cob- 3/4 cup

Chilled milk, skim- 1 3/4 cups

Honey- 1 to 2 tbsp, depending on the sweetness of the corn

Instruction

Hold the corn on the cob straight and place it over a cutting board.

Using a knife scrape the corn kernels.

In a blender, blend corn kernels, milk and honey together till the corn has pureed well.

Pour into a glass and serve chilled.

Tips:

If you want you could add saffron to the milkshake or even basil seeds.

Sweet Corn Milkshake – Healthy

Serves: 2 glass

Ingredients

Sweet Corn kernels, scrapped from fresh corn cob- 3/4 cup

Chilled milk, skim- 1 3/4 cups

Honey- 1 to 2 tbsp, depending on the sweetness of the corn

Instructions

Hold the corn on the cob straight and place it over a cutting board.

Using a knife scrape the corn kernels.

In a blender, blend corn kernels, milk and honey together till the corn has pureed well.

Pour into a glass and serve chilled.

Notes

If you want you could add saffron to the milkshake or even basil seeds.

3.2.1682

You’ll get addicted to this milkshake, it’s healthy so have it everyday… Why did it take so long to try this???
