Fried Lotus Roots - Crispy & Delicious

Ingredients
  • Lotus roots, cut into round shape
  • Kashmiri chili powder- ½ tsp
  • Regular hot chili powder- ½ tsp
  • Turmeric powder- ⅛ tsp
  • Ground black pepper- ¼ tsp
  • Salt- ½ tsp
  • Coconut oil- ½ cup
  • Curry leaves- 1 sprig
Instructions
  1. Frozen lotus root is available at the Indian store.
  2. Take the frozen lotus roots in a strainer & rinse under running water.
  3. Add them to a bowl & add all the spices.
  4. You can add any spices or seasonings of your choice, combine well.
  5. Place a frying pan over medium heat, add enough coconut oil for frying.
  6. Add the seasoned lotus roots & curry leaves.
  7. Fry till they turn crispy & golden brown.
  8. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towel.
  9. Enjoy the crispy fried lotus roots, it has a slight sweet & nutty taste.
