Instructions
For making this filling I've taken ground beef, you can also use ground lamb or chicken.
Place a large saucepan over medium heat, add oil.
Add onion chopped small, season with 1 tsp salt. Combine well.
Add ginger-garlic paste & green chilies, combine well.
Saute till the onions turn light golden brown in color.
Add the ground beef, break any lumps.
Close with the lid & cook covered for a few minutes till the ground beef has cooked through.
Open the lid, cook till the liquid has dried off.
Add all the spices along with 1 tsp salt, I've added Indian spices. You can literally add any kind of spices or seasonings of your choice. Combine well.
Stir fry over high heat for a few minutes till the ground beef starts to turn golden brown, tastes better.
Garnish with chopped cilantro, combine well.
Take the pan off the heat & let cool down.
This beef stuffing can be used for making many snacks & appetizers.
This can be made well in advance and stored in an air-tight glass container & keep in the refrigerator for a week or in the freezer for a month.
Preheat the oven to 400 F or 200 C.
For making the puff pastry rolls I've taken 1 puff pastry sheet.
Half the puff pastry sheet horizontally, so that we can make 2 rolls.
For making more rolls use more puff pastry sheets
Evenly spread the beef filling close to one of the ends, leaving about 2 inches of space.
Spread the grated cheese over the beef filling.
Gently fold the puff pastry sheet & seal the edges.
Spread the beef filling & cheese on the other half of the puff pastry sheet as well.
Grease an 8-inch baking pan with butter.
Gently place the stuffed puff pastry rolls on the pan in the form of a coil.
Make a coil shape with the other stuffed puff pastry roll as well around the already coiled puff pastry.
Crack an egg into a bowl & beat well using a fork.
Use a pastry brush, dip the brush in beaten egg & spread over the stuffed puff pastry rolls.
Keep the pan in the preheated oven, on the center rack.
Bake for 25 minutes till the puff pastry turns golden & crispy.
Take the pan out of the oven.
It will be super flaky & crispy.
Let rest for 5 minutes.
Using a pizza cutter cut into wedges.
Enjoy while it's warm, it's super delicious.
