Red Lentil Curry or Dal Recipe

- Red lentil- 1 cup (rinsed)
- Onion, chopped- 1
- Tomatoes, chopped- 2
- Garlic, chopped- 1 clove
- Ginger, chopped- 1 inch slice
- Chili powder- 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
- Cumin powder- ½ tsp
- Coriander powder- 2 tsp
- Garam Masala- ½ tsp
- Ghee or clarified butter- 1 tsp
- Cilantro, chopped- ¼ cup
- Water- 1¾ cups
- Salt- 1 tsp
- Turn on the Instant pot.
- Rinse red lentil taken in a strainer under running water.
- Add all the ingredients into the stainless steel pot.
- Close with the lid.
- Turn on pressure cook mode. Set the time to 5 minutes at high pressure.
- After 5 minutes of pressure cooking, do a quick pressure release.
- Open the lid.
- Taste the curry, add salt if required.
- Serve the red lentil curry into a bowl
- Serve the red lentil curry along with basmati rice.
